The city is very pretty, we were in the church and it is amazing and interesting.
One thing that immpressed us is that there are 22 inhabitants (12 men and 10 women).
This morning, we woke up at 8 o´clock, then we had breakfast in the youth hostel, a glass of milk with with some fruit.
For the break we took a green apple, and a orange juice. After we continued with the route until we reached the church.
We ate "migas" for lunch, its a very typical food here they are pieces of stale bread that you fry and you can make them chorizo and many more things, then we ate " revuelto de perretxicos, they are the most appreciated mushroom in the country, the queen of the season. We order "Trenza de Reyno for the desert, it´s a Poff Patry that is shape into a braid and covered with sugar. There are versions that are filled with walnuts and raisins, we fininish lunch, so we decided to continue the road. We walked for 3 hours, so we sit on a rock to rest for a minute and we saw a wonderful views, a green grass, cows, horses, sheeps; An spectaculars and colored flowers, a lot of type of tress and flowers.
When I was walking in the grass, we realize that we were lost afortunatly a local found us, so we question him, where was the "Real Colegiata de Santa Maria de Roncesvalles" he come with us and finally we were in the church. Before coming we found out about the church:
The "Real Colegiata de Santa Maria de Roncesvalles" is a monumental complex located in the town of Roncesvalles, considered the best navarrense example of gothic, in the purest style of the Parision region of the Isle o France.
When we finished visiting the church there was 8 p.m, so we decided to go to have dinner to a restaurant, we order " pimientos rellenos" is a variety of pepper that is produced in Lodosa in Navarra (Spain). It is usually cooked in the oven and is usually stuffed, we can find many recipes for piquillo peppers with different types of filling, then we order "Asparagus of navarre" and for dessert "conutillos rellenos de crema"They are a traditional sweet that has multiple versions and, although they can be filled with cream, they are made of puff pastry and are cone-shaped.
Today it was a long day so were going to go to sleep. We are going to Jaca tomorrow.
DAY 2 : JACA
Dear diary!
My group mate and I arrived from Roncesvalles to Jaca the Thursday in the night we stayed called "Alda Jolio". a hotel
And at dinner we ate coronitas of Santa Orosia, it tasted pretty good but Noelia didn't like it, she said it was too sweet. Later, the next day we went to celebrate the Frist Friday of May, we had so much fun.
Some Jacetanos invited us to eat some typical spanish food, like gazpacho, paella, fabada, Spanish omelette, croquettes, we absolutely loved the food, except the gazpacho because we don't like tomato.
Later, at 17:00, we went to a restaurant to eat torrijas, also called torejas or tostadas, they are made with loaf of bread from the day before, milk, cinnamon stick, skin of lemon, sugar, eggs, virgen olive oil and cinnamon to coat, they were very delicious and are very typical in Spain.
We had dinner at 22:00 at a restaurant close to the bus station, because a habit from here is to eat very late, and we ordered cocido, something that Spanish people usually eat at the lunch but we ate it at dinner; the chief told us that she made it with dried chickpeas, beef shank, hambone, bacon, chorizo, onion pudding, salted pork backbone bones, thighs with chicken thighs or free range chicken, turnip, carrots, potatoes, cabbage, noodles and salt.
After that, we went to the bus station to leave Jaca, we absolutely adored Jaca and the Jacetanos because we had so much fun and Jacetanos treated us so well, we hope to visit Jaca again
DAYS 3 & 4: PAMPLONA
Dear diary,
The night of the third day we were in Pamplona doing the Santiago’s road. We were exhausted so we sleep on the first motel that we found . The next day we woke up early in the morning , we ate something ( toast with tomatoes with minced garlic and oil ) At 11 a.m we started walking to the church of Santa Maria de Eunate, while we were walking we saw a little village called Olite . There were a lot of noises so we decided to take a look, we saw a lot of locals running to the sides surrounded by large and big fences but then we were very scary because far away there were a lot of bulls running to us !!! OMG.
Luckily some locals pulled us to the sides next to the fences , the bulls started running very fast and the people were trying to escpae from them . When this strange thing finished a local that were next to us invited us to have lunch with him . During the lunch , the local called Jimeno explained to us what it was "A corrida "and all the process , poor bulls :( they have to run a lot to catch the people but I'm sure that they don't want tu hurt anyone !!! He also said that it was a very popular thing from Pamplona and from Spain in general.
In the afternoon we said goodbye to Jimeno and we continued our trip , Around 19:45 p.m we walked to the Church but..... OH NO !!! . The church was closed , we were so dissapointed , we couldn't do anything so we went to a hotel near to the church
The following morning at 9:00 a.m we were alredy up so we took our things and we went back to the fantastic church . We looked around it and was incredible it was so pretty and the decoration were very well done , despite the years the church was very well mantained , but was time to go to the next stop .

They make it from grapes that they cultivate, and then store it in barrels. There was a wine show where people tried different wines, we wanted to try it. It was funny because when we tasted them all of the tasted the same but people found differences between them. After this, we went to visit some places from Logroño. The weather here is very hot. We have walked 430km. Now we are in León, we came from Burgos. Yesterday, we stopped in a motel called Orejas. We had breakfast in the motel, we ate a very tipical breakfast from Spain called churros.
We didn't spend more time there and we started walking to the Plaza Regla where there is the cathedral of Leon .When we arrived, we felt very surprised because it was enormous. The main entrance of the cathedral was very big and decorated. The square was very crowded and we found a lot of people doing the Santiago's Road too.We ate in a restaurant near there with English people that we met there. We eat something called tapas. They were very big and delicious and we were very full. Then we started walking to the basilica of san Isidoro de León.The basilica was very beautiful, we got very impressed with the drawings in the vaults.Something interesting is that supposedly the real saint grial is there. After visiting all the basilica, we went to the art museum that is there. Then we decided to walk to our last city of the route, Santiago de Compostela!!
We followed a group of people because we thought that they were doing the route, but after having walked one kilometer, we saw a sign that indicated that we were going to Oviedo, we asked for help and luckily they knew how to go to Santiago!
This was our 10 day of the route!!
